    March Round Up

As you can imagine – I hesitated with writing a round up post for this last month.  It’s impossible to put everything I’ve been feeling into words as on any given day I stumble between btw. being thankful that we are healthy and safe, overwhelmed by the many hats I have to wear at once now, fearful for what’s to come, and saddened by the stories of others.  But despite the heaviness I carry around each day,  I am trying to wake up each morning take a deep breath, and a moment to be grateful for all that we have.  From the beginning I have wanted this blog to be…

    February Round Up

We’ve had an unusually warm winter around here and while it’s meant I’ve gotten to get a head start on spring decorating and cleaning, it’s been a little sad not getting to enjoy any snow days. It has been easier to stay motivated to stay on top of my 52 Week Challenge without having to battle freezing temps and this month I knocked out a few tasks that had been lingering for a while: 8. Organize toy closet – add spot for cleaning supplies 9. Patch and clean trim outside Powder Room 10. Drill hole in cabinet for Ironing Board plug 11. Sew tissue box cover for powder room (I…

    January Round Up

After feeling like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas melded into one giant holiday I was all for an extra long January!  I was able to rest and reboot and start the year on a really good page.  I knocked out the Guest Room Makeover during the $100 Room Challenge and event finished putting my Xmas decorations away before Valentines Day (a new record for me!)  I also got a great head start on my 52 Week Happy Home Challenge – last year I learned that it was really hard to stay motivated around the craziness of the holiday’s so this year I’m going to cross off a few extra items when…

Take the 52 Week Hilltown House Home Challenge!

If you’ve been following along with my monthly round ups over the last year you know that 52 weeks ago I started a challenge —— a challenge to stop procrastinating and finally knock off the all the home improvement tasks that have been lingering on the bottom of my to do list. And as we get ready to ring in the next decade tomorrow night I am excited to report that I made it through all 52 tasks on my list and damn it feels good!! In fact it feels so good I wanna invite all of you to join in and keep the good feeling going by officially starting…

    October Round Up

Before we all dive into Christmas trees and hot cocoa, I have to say goodbye to month of skeletons and witches brooms.  I was hoping to be able to fondly look back on celebrating my little guys 6th birthday last month and trips to the pumpkin patch, but a nasty round of sickness put a dent in our plans.  At least we were all healthy enough to go Trick or Treating and end the month on a much better note than it started!  I spent most of my time working on customer projects so this months round up will be short but I’ve got a lot of fun things on…

    September Round Up

I know I say that most months seem to fly by, but at least I had a legit reason why September seems to be over before it started.     Between working non-stop at my full-time job for the first three weeks and getting ready for the start of school (including sending our little GOB off to his first day of kindergarden) I basically had one week to collect myself before we launched right into October – so needless to say there wasn’t much going on around HilltownHouse last month, but I did manage to get my seasonal decor out and you can see all the cozy details in my…

    August Round Up

Time to say a final goodbye to the summer of 2019.  I feel like there’s a mentality going around these days that summer needs to be packed with as many activities as possible to make it memorable, and in year’s past I always felt like we never did enough.  But as we sat at dinner last weekend, talking about all the things we did this summer as a family and we asked the boys what their favorite parts were – I finally overcame that feeling.  Not because we did anymore this year, but because I realized that what we did manage to do was more than enough to leave the…

    July Round Up

The summer keeps speeding along way to fast, but doesn’t that always seem like it’s the case these days?  I was hoping to be able to share the playroom makeover with you but fell quite a bit behind on that project – hopefully I can get it back on track over the next few months though.  I did manage to finally finish my kitchen makeover so if you missed that update make sure you check out the post below How to Make a Builder Grade Kitchen look Custom   Throwing a Birthday Party with the Art Nook     We ended the month with a celebration – this time for…

    June Round Up

We had a lot to celebrate in the last few weeks of June – the end of 1st grade for Blake, the end of pre-school for my little GOB, and the 10 year anniversary of me and my husband.  It was the perfect way to wrap up the spring and jump into the lazy days of summer.  Unfortunately we had one not so celebratory moment when one of our puppies decided to swallow part of his toy and had to get emergency surgery to get it removed (note to dog owners: watch out for those rope toys!)  but I’m happy to say he’s back to his normal goofy self.  With…

    May Round Up

This week we are celebrating 5 years in our home!  I can’t believe how far both the house and our family has come since we moved in.  I have such fond memories of the early days when it was just us on our block and my oldest son used to spend hours playing in the mud pits while we watched our neighborhood slowly get built.  If you want to see how things have changed around here make sure you check out my Home Tour Page for lots of Before/Afters! 52 Week CIO Challenge I’m happy to report that even during the craziness of the One Room Challenge I didn’t let…
